Volunteer Positions
Have you been looking for a way to make a contribution to your community?
Supporting a child or family that has experienced abuse may be what you are looking for. We thank you for taking the time to consider volunteering with us. We understand that it is a commitment not to be taken lightly, and appreciate the dedication it takes to become a child advocate.
We are looking for caring, dedicated and mature people to provide front line support, information and referrals to victims, families, and other affected by crime or tragedy.
Child Assistance
Child assistant workers are required to be present prior to, during and after a child’s interview with the R.C.M.P. and or Child and Family Services Authority. The main objective for a child assistance worker is to provide comfort, companionship, emotional support and supervision to the child. A child’s play area will be provided for this purpose.
Facility Operations / Preparations
It is expected that at times rooms will need to be prepared, supplies obtained and readied for use. It may also be the case that if special projects come up, help will be required. Operations and preparation workers will assist in these ventures.
Fundraising
As The Bison Child & Youth Advocacy Centre continues to grow and develop, there will be fund raising & community awareness events that occur. Assistance will be required in planning, executing and hosting such events.
